I had a box waiting for me on the doorstep when I came home from work, little did I know it would be such a treat. This is the Allure Connecticut Torpedo 6×52 from www.jdcigars.com . The cigar on inspection had a flawless wrapper with little or no veins and a firm feel. The scents I had from the pre-light inspection were somewhat nutty almost almond, cedar, and a little espresso. The cold draw after the cut was very easy and also had a flavor of almond and maybe pine.
The cigar is made in Estelli, Nicaraugua and has Nicaraguan filler and a Connecticut wrapper. The first third of the cigar was extremely smooth and had an almost perfect burn. The flavors of the cigar remained constant throughout and I would say mild to medium in strength. With regards to the strength this would be a great morning or first cigar of the day. Some boutique cigars are not as consistent through the entire smoke as this and I would really recommend that you give it a try.
I am giving this cigar a 7 Smoke Rings and would really say this could be an everyday cigar for anyone who doesn’t want to be overpowered and wants consistency.
