The Davidoff black label, has moved from Nicaragua south to Brazil. The Escurio, is absolutely a nice addition to the Davidoff line and also to any humidor. I managed to grab a couple of these at a shop I frequent and highly recommend, Just for him

The flavor profile is right in my wheel house. The wrapper is dark “Escuro”, and just a tad oily, the aroma is like a fresh ground coffee bean. The pre light draw is free and easy, perfect like you would expect from Davidoff. There is a hint of cocoa on the palate pre light.
15 mins- the flavors start mild and ease into peak palate attack, nothing harsh, just a gradual incline
30 mins- this cigar is in cruise control, the poker game is happening, but the cigar is the real Ace, about half way thru the cigar there is just a hint of orange peel on the retrohale, enough to notice and just the right level
45 mins- the cigar is getting down to the sweet spot, the flavor has been consistent an easy smoke for any palate, just enough complexity to keep me interested but not all over the place
I would have to say the Escurio, is a good and almost great cigar. There are a few things that prevent this, but most notably the price for the vitola. C’mon Davidoff, the name will only sell so many and it does sell a lot. The robusto for a Cuban is close to this in price.
Overall, I am giving this Davidoff Escurio 7 Smoke Rings. The cigar is good, the price will keep me from returning.
